CooperVision MiSight® 1 day Wins Product of the Year


MiSight® 1 day is the first soft contact lens proven to slow the progression of myopia. Since its limited release in targeted markets to eye care professionals who actively fit children with contact lenses, there have been immensely positive reactions by eye care practitioners, parents and wearers to the product. Earlier this year, the product was formally recognized among the optometric profession as bringing true innovation to the vision care category.


Announced at a ceremony in London earlier this year, MiSight® 1 day was declared the winner in the category of Product of the Year at the AOP Awards 2018. The event is a highlight of the optical calendar and is organized by the Association of Optometrists (AOP), the leading representative membership organization for optometrists in the U.K.

The Awards, now in its seventh year, recognizes the highest levels of achievement in U.K. optics. The Product of the Year award celebrates a product that has been brought to market in the last three years which successfully meets demand and the objectives set out for the product. This award category is voted for exclusively by AOP members and entries from across the entire vision care sector are assessed.

AOP Chief Executive Henrietta Alderman said, “Every one of this year’s finalists has demonstrated extraordinary dedication. Their commitment and passion have amazed our judges and we are delighted to recognize their achievements.”
